The Mosquito’s are a sport upscale version of the classic Estes Mosquito.
They are 100mm diameter lightweight plastic ducting with plywood bulkheads for the motor mounts.
The motor mount is a single piece of 50mm ducting that can hold 3 x D or E class motors. The motors are tapped together before being inserted into the motor mount. Ejection gases escape through 3 small holes in the forward bulkhead in the motor mount. Recovery is by parachute ejected by the motor ejection charges.
The nosecones are adapted from large fireworks and are plastic. The nosecone holds a small camera that has video capability. The camera is started before launch and will shutdown automatically when the memory is full or the battery runs out.
They have had a number of successful flights together and on their own. Sadly one was spacked at the IRW2006 and one of the cameras was lost.
